ABOUT CBPMs

At Elios Clinics, we offer CBPMs (Cannabis-Based Prescription Medicines) derived from the cannabis plant and have been legal to use as a prescription medicine in the UK since 2018. CBPMs are considered for various medical needs, particularly for people who have tried other treatments without success or have experienced intolerable side effects. Our expert consultants can help you decide if CBPMs are the right choice.

HOW DO CBPMs WORK?
CBPMs work on the endocannabinoid system, a signaling system that influences cognitive function, inflammation, blood pressure, and digestion. The cannabis plant contains over 100 cannabinoids, each of which can affect the body differently. THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) are the principal cannabinoids used in medicine.

INSIDE CBPMs

At Elios Clinics, some of the CBPMs we prescribe are full-spectrum plant extracts, meaning they contain not only THC and CBD but also minor cannabinoids, terpenes, and other plant compounds. The cannabis plants used in our products are grown and extracted under strict conditions and tested to ensure they are free from pesticides, heavy metals, and other contaminants, including molds and aflatoxins. It’s important to note that CBPMs should not be used if you have had a severe adverse reaction to cannabis or are allergic to any excipients listed in the product.
