Medical Cannabis Treatment Indications

In the UK, medical cannabis can be prescribed for a variety of conditions, primarily when conventional treatments have been ineffective. These conditions include chronic pain (e.g., fibromyalgia, arthritis), multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, cancer pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea, anxiety, PTSD, Tourette’s syndrome, and inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s disease. Elios Clinics ensures a thorough review of a patient’s medical records to assess eligibility based on these conditions.

Clinicians review the application, confirm medical records, and, if approved, invite the patient to a virtual consultation. A multidisciplinary team then evaluates the case, and if appropriate, prescribes cannabis-based treatments. Prescriptions are sent via recorded delivery, and follow-up consultations are scheduled as needed. Existing

As these products are unlicensed, the prescribing clinician retains responsibility for any negative effects resulting in the use of these prescribed products. Based on GMC guidance, prescribing of CBMPs should only be considered in specific circumstances. Because of this, Elios
