Medical Cannabis Treatment Indications

In the UK, medical cannabis can be prescribed for a variety of conditions, primarily when conventional treatments have been ineffective. These conditions include chronic pain (e.g., fibromyalgia, arthritis), multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, cancer pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea, anxiety, PTSD, Tourette’s syndrome, and inflammatory conditions such as Crohn’s disease. Elios Clinics ensures a thorough review of a patient’s medical records to assess eligibility based on these conditions.

Travelling in the UK with CBPM

Traveling with Controlled Drugs and Prescription Medication (CBPM) in the UK requires carrying a copy of the prescription alongside the medicine, which must remain in its original packaging and be clearly labeled.

Travelling Abroad with CBPM

When traveling with CBPMs, you should know potential restrictions and regulations in the countries you travel to and from. CBPMs are highly regulated, and some countries may not permit their possession, even with a consultant’s prescription. Therefore, it is recommended to consult with your travel medicine specialist or consultant before travelling with CBPMs. If you have any doubts or questions about traveling with CBPMs, contact the Embassy or Consulate of the countries you visit. MDT Process

Medical cannabis is an unlicensed medication, so our MDT must review and approve your prescription. Our team meets weekly to discuss prescriptions, and once your prescription has been approved, we will notify you. This typically takes between 2-5 working days after your consultation

Repeat Prescription Process

In the context of Elios Clinics, repeat prescriptions are available for existing patients through their online portal, simplifying access to ongoing medical cannabis treatment. In cases where a prescribed product/strain is out of stock, Elios Clinics follows a 2% rule: an alternative product with a maximum variation of 2% in THC or CBD concentration can be prescribed to ensure consistency and safety. This helps maintain treatment effectiveness while preventing supply disruptions. Your next Repeat Prescription
